Farmers’ Fair
A Mega Farmers’ Fair was organized on 7th March, 2020 at the University with involvement of nearly 500 farmers from various parts of Odisha and West Bengal. The function was inaugurated by Dr. Arun Kumar Sahoo, Hon’ble, Minister of Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment, Fisheries & Animal Resources Development, Higher Education, Govt. of Odisha. Dr. Pawan Kumar Agrawal, Vice-Chancellor,
OUAT presided over the function. There was launching of OUAT Kalinga brand to provide several technologies, seeds and other materials produced by the University to the farming community. Various farmers were felicitated for their outstanding contributions in the field of bio-diversity conservation. A farmer-scientist interaction programme was also organised during the occasion. A Regional Workshop on Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers’ Right was organized during the occasion. An exhibition was arranged to display modern agricultural technologies and available local land races.
