Distance Education

The Distance Education programme was introduced by the University during 1987 with the objectives of transferring up-to-date technical knowledge on agriculture and allied activities to the literate farmers. Depending upon the requirement of farmers of the state, lesson notes on nine different courses have been prepared by the programme. These courses are rice cultivation, commercial crops (cotton, maize, sugarcane, and jute), vegetable cultivation, fruit cultivation, mushroom cultivation, dairy farming, poultry farming, apiculture and pisciculture.
