The College has contributed significantly through appropriate Transfer of Technology to the farmers by extension programme in different aspects of fish culture, seed production, fish processing etc. The college has collaborated with DRDA, state Fisheries Department, NGOs, ICAR organizations, banks and other organizations for training to farmers and fishermen so as to improve their socio-economic status.

The college organized skilled training programme in aquaculture, fish processing and product development in collaboration with NGOs like Gram Vikas, PREM, and United Artists Association for the fish farmers and fishermen of Odisha. In culture aspects, the fish farmers were trained on pond management, seed production, transportation, pond water quality monitoring, fish health management etc. Fishermen and women were trained on hygienic way of fish handling, improved methods of fish drying and salting, preparation of value added fishery products like fish pickle, prawn pickle, fish cutlet, fish cakes, fish balls etc. Demonstrations were also made on modern methods of fish processing such as freezing and canning. Awareness programme are also conducted for the effective implementation of Govt. programme for both fishermen and fish farmers for development of fisheries in the state of Odisha. In this context, the college organizes exhibitions and farmer scientist interaction programme each year on different occasions like, University Foundation Day, Matsya Mahotsav, National and International seminars etc. Quality carp seeds are produced in the Chinese hatchery complex located at the college and are sold to the farmers.

The faculties of the college are regularly invited by the state Fisheries Training Institute located at Balugaon of Khurda district as resource person to impart effective training to the fish farmers from all over the state. Besides, faculties also act as resource person in of agriculture and allied departments in RITE, Ganjam district. In addition, faculties had imparted skilled training in NFDB assisted training programme on Hygienic drying in solar dryer and value addition to low cost fish at different places like Puri, Paradeep etc, to 300 fishermen and women and ICZMP assisted training programme on Net mending and sustainable fishing to 100 fisher folks of Chilika area which were organized by Department of fisheries.
