The department of Computer Science and Application (CSA) was established in the year 1998 with the student intake capacity of 60 per year. It offers two-year full-time course leading to the award of Masters’ degree in Computer Application (MCA). The course curricula are designed to meet the professional requirement of Information Technology (IT) industries. The computer laboratories of the department are furnished with modern software and internet connectivity to provide the opportunity to the students to work on software platforms prevailing in the I.T. industries. To face the challenges of the stiff competitive environment of the present scenario, the department is prepared with a solid foundation, responsible institution, commanding over the subject, adequate infrastructure, and appropriate manpower. Many firms associated with the software industry have sought skilled manpower from this campus, proof enough of the quality that the department infuses into its students.
The department of Bioinformatics was started in year 2002 under the umbrella of Centre for Post Graduate Studies in Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology. It offers full time two years M.Sc. course in Bioinformatics. The course curricula are designed as per the recommendation of ICAR, New Delhi. The focused research areas are Genomics (Structural, Functional & Comparative), Molecular Modeling & Drug Designing, Data Mining, Soft Computing, NGS data management and analysis, Development of Computational Tools and Software, etc. Students passed out from the department have been successfully placed in several research organizations and private companies of National and International repute.
The Department of Agribusiness Management under Centre for Post Graduate Studies, OUAT is set up with the objective of imparting quality management education in Agribusiness sector while sensitizing the students towards the need of the society mainly farming community. This commenced operations since 2007. Since its inception, the department has created the best professionals who are equipped to face the challenges and growing opportunity in Agribusiness sector. The department is offering Mater of Business Administration in Agribusiness Management (MBA-ABM), a two year full time residential program with an intake capacity of 32 students. The rigorous curriculum seeks to instill a passion for knowledge and ability to apply that knowledge to real life scenarios. The program lays emphasis on all-round personality development and inculcates the values of leadership and integrity. During the last 13 years, the department could able to become a leading institute in Agribusiness Management sector. Continuous effort is being provided to bring forward the capabilities of the students not only in academic competence but also on their analytical, logical and emotional temperament. The students passing out of the department are well trained and equipped to take up challenging careers in a variety of organizations.
