NSS Unit

The NSS unit of College organize regular camps involving various activities like cleaning of the hostel and college premises, plantation programme, after care of the saplings, weeding of the agroforestry plot, blood donation, soil testing and awareness programs etc.

Linkages and collaborations with other agencies/ Departments within and outside the country.

Good linkage with the RRTTS and KVK scientists, Bargarh,Sambalpur, Govt. Line departments, Sambalpur and Sambalpur University for the interest of the institution

Personality Development:

The college organizes personality development program to increase employability of students. Basic english classes are conducted to increase soft skills like functional grammar, spoken english, group discussions, personal interview, presentation

Health centre

College of Horticulture and College of Agriculture shares a combined dedicated dispensary for benefit of students and staffs. A medical officer is appointed in the dispensary to provide regular as well as emergency health check up.

Hostel facilities

There are three hostels such as Maheswari Girls’ Hostel, Ghanteswar Girls’ Hostel, Gangadhar Boys’hostel are available to accommodate Agriculture students with mess, clean drinking water, indoor games facilities etc.

Antiragging cell

The Anti-ragging monitoring cell includes the Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents of boys’ and girls’ hostel and senior faculties of the College to observe the activities of students in the hostels and college round the clock.

Games and sports

The campus provides adequate opportunity for co-curricular activities of students. There are one designated cricket field, one volley ball and badminton court. Indoor games such as
Carrom, Chess, Table Tennis are there in hostel. An athletic society is there to manage day to day activities of the games and sports and organize annual sports day

Cultural Center

A Dramatic society has been formed to manage cultural activities of the both College of Agriculture and College of Horticulture, under a single umbrella. The college organize dramatic as well as annual function each year to encourage extracurricular activities of students. Students from this campus also showed their talent in intercollege competition and in agri unifest

IDP-NAHEP training

Institutional Development Plan (IDP) under NAHEP is operating with financial support from ICAR and world bank to achieve excellence and equity in agricultural education with enhanced skill, enterprenurship and employability and strengthening academic infrastructure. The college has organized IDP- NAHEP trainings for improvement of students’ exposure.
