The total geographical area of the station is 87.5 ha out of which 46.4 ha (5.6 ha upland, 27.6 ha medium land and 13.2 ha low land) is under cultivation.

The East and South Eastern Coastal Plain Zone has a geographical area of 16.84 lakh ha of which 9.55 lakh ha is the net cultivated area. The cropping intensity of the zone is 173.5 %. About 38.9 % of the cultivated area is irrigated.
