  • Rice variety Kalinga Dhan 1205(ORJ-7)released by SVRC for the state of Odisha during 2021. The variety is having semi-dwarf plant statures, suitable of rainfed and irrigated medium land conditions, having plant height of 112 cm, duration 132 days and average yield of 5177 Kg/ha. It is having medium slender grain type and excellent cooking quality.
  • Rice variety Kalinga Dhan 1203(ORJ-1135)released by CVRC for the state of Odisha, Chhatisgarh& Maharashtra during 2021. The variety is having semi-dwarf plant statures, suitable for irrigated medium land conditions, having plant height of 98 cm, duration 135 days and average yield of 5425 Kg/ha. It is having medium slender grain type and excellent cooking quality.
  • Rice variety OUAT Kalinga Rice 1 (Kolab) (ORJ-1161) released by SVRC for the state of Odisha during 2022. The variety is having semi-dwarf plant statures, suitable for irrigated medium land conditions, having plant height of 105 cm, duration 135 days and average e yield of 5295 Kg/ha. It is having long slender grain type and excellent cooking quality.
  • Rice variety OUAT Kalinga Rice 9(ORJ-1346)submitted to CVRC for its release during 2023. The variety is having semi-dwarf plant statures, suitable for irrigated medium and upland conditions, having plant height of 110 cm, duration 110 days (early) and average e yield of 5170 Kg/ha. It is having long bold grain type and excellent cooking quality.
  • Rice variety OUAT Kalinga Rice 10(ORJ-1317) submitted to CVRC for its release during 2023. The variety is having semi-dwarf plant statures, suitable for irrigated medium and upland conditions, having plant height of 95 cm, duration 115 days (early) and average e yield of 5704 Kg/ha. It is having long slender grain type and excellent cooking quality.
  • Rice cultures ORJ-1345, ORJ-1347, ORJ-1356, ORJ-1349 & ORJ-1351 are in pipelines for its release.
  • A total no. of 548 local land races have been preserved and maintained by this centre and out of which 40 are aromatic.
  • Genetic improvement of aromatic short slender grainhas been undertaken by the centres through hybridisation and mutagenesis programme.
  • The centre has taken up different hybridisation programme for different biotic and abiotic stresses and developed several breeding materials and these are now under selection. Now the centre is having more than 2200 segregating materials at different stages of generations.
    At present the centre is having 76 promising cultures.
